Job Shadow Interview
1. How did you get started in this field?
A: My dad. I got started when I was working with my dad.
2. What training or education is required for this type of work?
A: For me, I have to take a class every 8 years and I have to be ASE Certified.
3. What is the most challenging part of your job?
A: The most challenging part of my job are the customers because they're almost like your boss and you have to get them satisfied.
4. How do you see jobs in this field change in the future?
A: You have to have more knowledge about computers because right now it's not all about mechanics anymore; especially with the newer luxury cars.
5. What schools did you attend? Are there any that you recommend?
A: The school I attended was College of the Sequoias (C.O.S.). A school that I recommend is UTI.
6. How does the economy affect your job?
A: Actually, the worst the economy is, the better it is for me because they wouldn't have to buy new cars and they would have to bring them here to repair them and today the cars are even better which means they can last longer.
7. What advice do you have for a person aspiring to enter your career field?
A: You have love it because it's not easy; there's actually a lot of work.
8. What inspired you to choose your career?
A: To be honest, in my case, I didn't have a choice. It was either working here or working in the fields; there really wasn't any other way.
9. How has your career affect your job?
A: It's been really good, financially, it's been pretty awesome. It's been a big plus up for me and my business.
